We all watch Olympics because we are highly patriotic. If like me, you are Jamaican, then you are no doubt extremely proud of the spectacular performances of our star athletes.
Like the man in Half Way Tree today, we are "overlated" (a combination of overjoyed and elated. I think) by the outstanding performances of Alia Atkinson who placed 4th in the women's 100 metre breast stroke, Dorian Scott who qualified for the finals of the men's shot put, and the brilliant run by our "pocket rocket" Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce and the legendary Veronica Campbell-Brown (I know, I have left out many persons; apologies in advance, for I am no Bruce James).
Let’s not even begin to talk of tomorrow’s epic performances by the men. It will be epic no matter the outcome.
Alas, my shameful confession has nothing to do with patriotism, or Jamaica for that matter. It is my repressed lust -- ahem -- I mean admiration (for I am now a married woman) for the well sculpted body of these male Olympians. For surely, God must have smiled upon them, and blessed them with many gifts.
Even Michelangelo in all his glory could not have sculpted better bodies. Helen of Troy might have been the face that launched a thousand ships, but many of these men could easily drop a thousand draw... Well, you get the drift.
Women, I know you’re sitting beside your men pretending not to notice how sexy these men are, but if you are shameless like me, then you are perhaps salivating in his presence.
So take this morning for example: my mouth dropped open when Ryan Bailey of USA (so much for my patriotism. Sorry Jamaica) strolled unto the track with all his sexy swag.
Before I could stop myself, I blurted out "Damn he is sexy! So hot!" (Vigorously fans self) Oblivious to the fact that my husband was still lying right beside me, I went on and on and on proclaiming the sexiness of this fine specimen.
My adoring husband, clearly annoyed that I was not about to shut up anytime soon, interrupts me abruptly:
"He's married and him baby mothers have him in court for child support"
As if I care. LOL!
Let me be clear (so there are no defamation charges), none of what my husband said is true. He is just seeing the man for the first time, but you know, just as some women are apt to point out the faults in other women, especially when they find them threatening, I have come to realise that the same is true of men.

We both burst out laughing. I reminded my dear husband that I am due new sportsmen to add to my crush list since the few sportsmen on whom I had crushed have turned out to be his friends -- awkward.
Let me turn my attention from Olympics a bit just to fill you in.

I'm not a cricket fan. Surely it’s the MOST boring sport on earth, but the only cricketer that could potentially pull me out of the house and unto the mound (cheering like the most avid cricket fan) is (or should I say was) Chris Gayle.
Thanks to Bucka that crush has been... well... crushed.

Hubby and Olympians Richard and Jays
Last Olympics, back in Beijing, my crush was Richard Thompson, the sexy Trinidadian. Even though I was rooting for Bolt, I was secretly cheering Richard on. (Die traitor!) You guessed it: turns out they are brethrens!

Hubby and the fastest man in the world: Usain Bolt!
And, I don’t even need to mention the legendary Bolt himself! (Arghhh)
So now I am on the hunt for crushes, and I must say the men below are not looking so bad.
With an estimated 70 - 75 per cent of athletes having sex at the olympic village, it is no wonder the motto is "what happens in the village, stays in the village" but with such fine specimen of both men and women, can you blame them?
Oh don't look at me all self-righteous as if being married suddenly made you forget the attractiveness of our male species!
Just in case you are wondering, my hubby is no different. Except that he still gets to keep all his crushes, starting with Miss Carmelita Jeter.
Guys im dying here i just love this site instead of worrying i just come here and im sure i will be treated i wont leave the same way i log on love ya i have a crush too.
I am just loving that we women feel liberated and empowered enough to lust openly! (which the guys have been doing for centuries – sorry, millenia). Ryan Bailey took my breath away, but my fave will ALWAYS be Asafa – that AMAZING bod, with that sweet, shy smile …. oh oh ummmhhh ..

I openly lust Lecia. My hubby knows I root for Jamaicans first and then hot-bodies after. When I am looking for a team to root for and he suggests one based on skills and whatever, I always asks how the players look and he is quick to tell me he is not watching that so I am on my own! Thank God he is understanding enough! His thing is, they are far away and I would not get close enough to do more than lust….except Asafa of course…MY BIGGEST CRUSH

Do you see the fullness of Ryan Bailey’s sexy lips and his swag as you rightfully say Leece. His sexiness is just enough to make you shudder even in the presence of your spouse, significant other or loved one. My boyfriend Orette gets jealous of the time that I spend in the books so can you imagine how he reacts when I show “admiration” for someone else!!!!! LOLOL!!!! Not a pretty sight.
